Stormy Start to the Week

Widespread thunderstorms are expected for most of the day Monday. An influx of gulf moisture is currently making its way inland, and will arrive by Monday morning. This will allow for more widespread coverage of thunderstorms, along with the potential for localized excessive rainfall.

These storms will have the potential to drop large amounts of rain over a short period of time, so exercise caution.

Here is a timeline of when I expect storms to impact the area.

• 8am: Widespread thunderstorms begin forming and making their way inland.
• 9am – 6pm: Widespread thunderstorms impacting the area bringing heavy downpours and gusty winds
• 8pm : Storms will be cleared out by 8pm

Midweek into the Weekend

A high-pressure system currently positioned to our west will gradually shift eastward, ushering in a return to hot, sunny conditions beginning Wednesday and continuing through the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Daily high temperatures in the mid 90s, with “feels-like” temperatures in the 103-108 range with a slight coastal breeze will make for perfect weather to hit the beach and cool off.

Tropical Update

The NHC has outlined two areas to watch over the next 7 days for development in the Atlantic Ocean. I do not expect them to become a risk for Texas, or anywhere in the United States for that matter.

The High Pressure system located over the central Atlantic ocean would steer anything that develops to the north, and keep it over open waters where conditions would become less favorable for any tropical systems to survive.
