LEAGUE CITY — Clear Creek Independent School District has received a Superior Achievement rating through the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, known as School FIRST.
The rating is based on the district’s financial accountability report for the fiscal year that ended Aug. 31, 2025.
School FIRST evaluates how Texas school districts manage their financial resources. CCISD’s rating was based on 21 indicators covering financial reporting, financial solvency and other financial practices.
The district met all five critical indicators, including receiving an unmodified, or “clean,” opinion on its financial statements from independent auditors.
“The information provided through the School FIRST system guides our continued efforts to maximize the value of every taxpayer dollar,” Chief Financial Officer Alice Benzaia said during the district’s public hearing on the report.
The report also found no material weaknesses in the district’s internal controls over financial reporting and no material noncompliance involving local, state or federal funds.
District officials said sound budgeting and financial management help ensure resources are directed toward classrooms and students.
CCISD’s finance team has also received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the Association of School Business Officials International’s Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for 20 consecutive years.
The district presented its annual financial accountability management report during a public hearing before its Board of Trustees at the regular meeting on September 28, 2026. To view the public hearing, click here.
