CCISD Athletic Hall of Honor Celebrates 10 Years, Inducts Class of 2026

LEAGUE CITY — The Clear Creek ISD Athletic Hall of Honor celebrated its 10th anniversary Sept. 19 by inducting three teams, two coaches and seven former student-athletes as its Class of 2026.

The annual reception and induction ceremony was held at CCISD Challenger Columbia Stadium and brought together CCISD alumni, district leaders, family members, friends and supporters to recognize accomplishments in athletics.

The inductees include former coaches and athletes who attended or coached at Webster, Clear Creek, Clear Lake, Clear Brook, Clear Springs or Clear Falls high schools.

“It is an incredible honor to celebrate 10 years of this Hall of Honor, and to be among so many who made an impact on their sport and in their communities,” said Dede MacPherson, president of the Athletic Hall of Honor Board of Directors.

The 2026 class includes coaches Thomas Landgraf, who coached swimming and diving at Clear Lake High School from 1985 to 2003, and Karolyn Criado, who coached golf at Clear Lake from 2004 to 2023.

Then -1964 Clear Creek HS Girls Basketball Team State Runners Up

The seven student-athlete inductees are:

  • Annette Carney Propp, Clear Lake, Class of 1988 — volleyball, basketball, golf and track
  • Brian Drew Williams, Clear Lake, Class of 1990 — basketball and track and field
  • Meredith Phillips Thompson, Clear Creek, Class of 1996 — volleyball, basketball and soccer
  • Deryell Patterson, Clear Brook, Class of 1999 — football and track and field
  • Lauren Viel, Clear Lake, Class of 2007 — golf
  • Brooke McCarty-Williams, Clear Springs, Class of 2014 — basketball
  • Landon Nicholas Etzel, Clear Creek, Class of 2016 — football, baseball and track and field

Three teams were also inducted into the Hall of Honor.

The 1964 Clear Creek High School girls basketball team was recognized for finishing as UIL Class 2A state runners-up. Virginia Butler and assistant coach Marily Henson were also recognized with the team.

The 1988 Clear Lake High School girls cross country team was inducted after winning the UIL Class 5A state championship. The team was coached by Anid de la Garza.

The 2007 Clear Lake High School girls golf team was inducted after winning the UIL Class 5A state championship. Criado coached the team.

During the ceremony, guests also heard a performance of the national anthem by Allium Clarinets, a group of student musicians representing five CCISD high schools.

The Athletic Hall of Honor was established to recognize individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to CCISD athletics. The 2026 ceremony marked its 10th year of recognizing former athletes, coaches and teams.

The ceremony and reception were supported by sponsors and alumni, including platinum sponsors Joe C. McKinney; Lyssa McBride Seale; Kathleen Trcka Taylor and Hugh Taylor; HomeTown Bank of League City; and The Sign Shop.

Gold sponsors included Steve Rasmussen, Angie Chivers and Janis Balsamo, along with additional community supporters.
