Randle Remains Undefeated, Knocks Down Friendswood, 31-14

Luke Myslik Avatar

As the 2026 football season comes to a close, one team ended things on an incredibly high note, while the other side has some rebuilding to do before the postseason. The Randle Lions tore apart the Friendswood Mustangs with their lethal rushing attack, coming away with a 31-14 victory.

Randle ran the ball on 65 carries, counting up to 417 yards total, averaging 6.4 yards a carry. Lions senior runningback Landen Williams-Callis was the leader of the pride rushing for 207 yards on 31 carries and scored four total touchdowns (two of which were over 30 yard rushing touchdowns). Lions versatile athlete Jamir Young was the runner-up with 118 yards on 19 attempts.

The first half was looking promising for the Friendswood Mustangs. Friendswood quarterback Joshua Brister threw for two passing touchdowns to receivers Rit Johnson and Peyton Lowe, and the Mustangs’ defense forced a fumble to end the second quarter, leading 14-10. Unfortunately, once the second half rolled around for Friendswood, it was as if one team went into the locker room and another came onto the field. The offense allowed five total sacks (four by dimeback Kaden White), seven tackles for loss and had one fumble recovered by the defense.

Improvements need to be made for Friendswood’s rattled rushing defense as they travel next week to College Station High School to take on the Cougars (8-2) in a Bi-District playoff matchup led by senior running back Trey Walton and his high-flying running game.
