Galveston to host public meeting on Stewart Beach master plan

GALVESTON — The City of Galveston will host its first public engagement meeting on the Stewart Beach master plan Monday, Oct. 6, at 5:30 p.m. at the Historic Galveston Water and Electric Light Community Center, 715 30th St.

The city hired BRW Architects earlier this summer to develop a comprehensive plan for the popular beach park. As part of the process, residents will have the chance to weigh in on possible amenities and attractions for the site.

At the meeting, BRW Architects will present early project materials and potential development concepts. City officials said feedback from residents and visitors will help shape the plan before it is finalized.

“Public input is vital to ensuring Stewart Beach continues to be a welcoming and functional destination for all,” City Manager Brian Maxwell said in a press release.

The master plan is expected to serve as a guide for future redevelopment, providing presentation materials to support a request for proposals from developers.
