LEAGUE CITY – A local man is facing multiple charges following an alleged road rage incident that led to a high-risk traffic stop along Interstate 45 Sunday night.
According to the League City Police Department, 24-year-old Joshua Leslie was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with misdemeanor charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawful carry of a weapon.
Police say officers were called around 9:20 p.m. on April 5 to reports of a disturbance in the 100–200 block of South Gulf Freeway. Investigators say the incident began in a parking lot near Crunch Fitness, where Leslie allegedly yelled at another driver before pointing a handgun.
Authorities say Leslie then followed the victim onto the freeway and into a nearby gas station parking lot, where he again allegedly displayed the weapon.
Officers later located both vehicles entering the northbound lanes of Interstate 45 and conducted a high-risk traffic stop in Webster. Police say Leslie did not initially comply with commands and moved toward the edge of an overpass before officers deployed a Taser and took him into custody.
According to investigators, officers found multiple firearms inside Leslie’s vehicle, including three handguns and a shotgun, along with ammunition.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the League City Police Department.
