DICKINSON – At least three homes caught fire Monday afternoon in Dickinson, prompting a large emergency response and mutual aid from several neighboring departments.
The fires were reported around 3pm, in the 5000 block of Captain’s Drive. Fire crews from Dickinson were joined by mutual aid departments from League City, Texas City, Santa Fe and La Marque as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
Residents in the area were advised to move their vehicles to nearby streets out of concern the fire could spread to additional homes.
High winds may have contributed to the situation. A Red Flag warning had been issued Sunday night, indicating conditions favorable for rapid fire spread.
KGTX 7 confirmed that two pets have died. The initial cause of the first fire is unknown at this time.
