DICKINSON – At least three homes caught fire Monday afternoon in Dickinson, prompting a large emergency response from several neighboring departments. At least six people are displaced from the incident.

The fires were reported around 3pm, in the Bayou Bend area, including the 5000 block of Captain’s Drive. Fire crews from Dickinson were joined by mutual aid departments from League City, Texas City, Santa Fe and La Marque as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.

Residents in the area were advised to move their vehicles to nearby streets out of concern the fire could spread to additional homes.

Around 3:30pm, one of the houses had entirely collapsed, while firefighters continued battling two other houses.

High winds may have contributed to the situation. A Red Flag warning had been issued Sunday night, indicating conditions favorable for rapid fire spread.

KGTX 7 confirmed that several pets have died. The initial cause of the first fire is unknown at this time.
