Suspect Arrested After Seven Injured in Dickinson Shooting

DICKINSON – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a late-night shooting in Dickinson that left multiple people injured.

According to Dickinson Police Detective Guadalupe Vasquez, 58-year-old Patrick Frederick was taken into custody on April 1, 2026, in connection with the March 29 shooting. Frederick is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with bond set at $750,000, and unlawful carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon, with bond set at $250,000.

The incident began around 12:26 a.m. on March 29, when officers were dispatched to a medical call in the 2400 block of Avenue F. While en route, dispatchers received reports of gunfire in the area. When officers arrived, they located several victims and, while on scene, heard additional gunshots being fired.

Multiple agencies responded to assist, and the Dickinson Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division took over the case. The Galveston County Crime Scene Unit also responded to assist with processing the scene.

As of March 31, investigators had identified seven victims. All were reported to be in stable condition or had already been released from the hospital.
