Week 4 of the 2026 United Football League season kicked things off with the Houston Gamblers (1-2) going toe-to-toe with the Louisville Kings (0-3) on a Thursday night. The game came down to wire, but despite their best efforts to seal the deal with another win, the Gamblers fell short in overtime against the Kings, 24-22. This win gives Louisville their first win in franchise history. Here is your latest recap:

Outside of both sides sharing field-goals in the first half, Kings runningback James Robinson breaks the plane of the end-zone for a one-yard touchdown run. The Kings were ahead by ten at halftime, 16-6.

Struggling with offensive inefficiency, the Gamblers had made a change in quarterback. Taulia Tagovailoa, brother of now Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, entered the game to replace starter Nolan Henderson.

Then, from the first play of the third quarter, Gamblers runningback, Marcus Yams, bolts to the house with a 68-yard touchdown run. One drive later, after holding the Kings to a three-and-out, Taulia Tagovailoa keeps it himself and scores a six-yard touchdown run, thus leading the game, 19-16. It was at that point that the Houston offense and the entire Gamblers audience came to life.

The score is 22-22. The Kings are getting ever so close to the Gamblers territory with the hopes of closing the game. Those hopes were seemingly dashed when cornerback Major Burns picked off Kings quarterback Jason Bean giving the Gamblers a chance to walk away with a victory.

Unfortunately, John Hoyland, Gamblers’ kicker, who has been remarkably consistent, missed a 39-yard field goal attempt with 1:02 to spare in the fourth quarter. With a defensive stop by Gamblers, this game would be sent into overtime.

In the two-out-three overtime shootout, Bean would lob to his tight-end Tre McKitty for the two point conversion in the second attempt. When the Gamblers had the ball to respond, they were denied after Tagovailoa tossed it to receiver Jontre Kirklin and was pushed out of bounds just inches away from the end-zone. A penalty was called on the Gamblers for offensive holding, but it was declined, thus ending the game with the Louisville Kings with their first win as a UFL expansion team in franchise history.

Houston looks to find redemption against the Columbus Aviators (who also had their first win in franchise history against the undefeated Dallas Renegades) on Sunday, April 26th at 11:00 p.m. CT, and Louisville will look to maintain that momentum against the Dallas Renegades on Sunday at 2:00p.m. CT.
