Texas City man arrested in child sexual abuse material investigation

TEXAS CITY — A 28-year-old Texas City man was arrested Thursday following an investigation by the Texas City Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

According to police, the case began after investigators received multiple cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Authorities said Jacob Dean Bickham was identified as a suspect during the investigation and was taken into custody in the 2300 block of 4th Avenue North.

Bickham is charged with possession of child sexual abuse material, a first-degree felony, according to the department.

Police said bond was set at $150,000.

The investigation involved assistance from multiple agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, League City Police Department and other regional law enforcement partners.
