GALVESTON — A 4-year-old boy died Thursday after being pulled from a swimming pool at a condominium along the Seawall, according to the Galveston Police Department.
Police said the incident happened around 5:15 p.m. in the 6300 block of Seawall Boulevard, which is the Victorian Condominiums.
Authorities said the child was found in distress after being removed from the pool. A bystander began CPR before first responders arrived.
Galveston Beach Patrol and police were first on scene and continued lifesaving efforts until Galveston Emergency Medical Services transported the child to the University of Texas Medical Branch.
Officials said the child was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately released. Police are unsure of how the child gained access to the pool.
