LEAGUE CITY — Clear Creek Independent School District honored 118 student athletes during the 13th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on April 29, committing to play at the next level after graduation.

Sponsored by the Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, the ceremony recognized students from Clear Brook High School, Clear Creek High School, Clear Falls High School, Clear Lake High School and Clear Springs High School who will be continuing their athletic journeys in 14 different sports, ranging from wrestling to football.

“Having this many students recognized is truly exceptional, and it represents one of the largest classes we have celebrated to date,” said CCISD’s Athletic Director, Kirby Killingsworth.

“Each of you has earned this moment through your work ethic, discipline, and competitive spirit,” said Killingsworth, who encourages each student to continue to build on those qualities as they grow as athletes, leaders and productive citizens.

Clear Springs High School Alumnus, Cameron Reffells, served as the ceremony’s guest speaker. After playing and coaching football at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Reffells currently caters to Clear Springs’ football and wrestling as a first-year coach.
