Heavy thunderstorms pushed through the Gulf Coast region overnight Tuesday into early Wednesday morning, bringing torrential rainfall, gusty winds, and localized flooding concerns across parts of Galveston County.
Wind gusts reached up to 40 mph at times as bands of heavy rain moved through the area. Several locations reported standing water and minor street flooding, particularly during the early morning hours of 2am-5am, when the heaviest rainfall occurred.
Forecasters say unsettled weather will continue through the remainder of the workweek, with additional rounds of rain and thunderstorms expected each day.
Wednesday Forecast

Periods of rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected to continue throughout Wednesday, with precipitation gradually tapering off around 3 p.m. Cloudy and overcast skies will linger into the evening before conditions become mostly cloudy around 9 p.m.
Thursday Forecast

Another round of widespread rain is expected to develop Thursday morning around 8 a.m. Rain chances are expected to persist through much of the afternoon before tapering off near 5 p.m.
Friday Forecast

Showers are expected to begin early Friday morning around 4 a.m., with thunderstorms developing through the morning hours. Conditions are expected to improve later in the day, with clearing skies possible by the evening.
Saturday Forecast

Saturday morning is expected to remain relatively quiet before scattered thunderstorms begin developing during the afternoon hours. Additional scattered storms may continue into the evening as unsettled weather remains in place across the region.
