GALVESTON – Five days closer to the 250th Anniversary of America’s Independence and Galveston is more ready than ever to celebrate such a monumental event with their annual 4th of July Seawall Parade.

Kicking things off on Saturday at 6 p.m., this Fourth of July parade is sponsored by the Galvestion Firefighters Children’s Parade Krewe and will feature many floats for many to applause and a fireworks show to finish things off. This will be the fourth years the City of Galveston will host a fireworks display and has worked productively with the company to bring the event together.

The line-up will start at 22nd Street, Seawall to Avenue P and end at Seawll, 21st to 2nd Street. Expect the parade to run through Seawall Blvd. from 23rd Street to 53rd Street. Traffic will also be detoured temporarily on 19th Street and 61 Street until the parade is finished.

The event is anticipated to start around 4 p.m., however, it could occur earlier depending on the management of the event and the Galveston PD.

Following the parade, the fireworks show will begin at 9:15 p.m. on 37th Street and Seawall Blvd.

This display will also be broadcast online with announcements, and celebratory, accompanying music which you can listen to by downloading the free app Pyrocast and enter code 8JUV.
