TEXAS CITY — A juvenile has been charged following an investigation by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation began in June 2026 after Detective A. Espinosa, a member of the Houston Metro ICAC Task Force, received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

On July 14, investigators with the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and Houston Metro ICAC Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in Texas City. Authorities said multiple electronic devices were seized during the search for forensic analysis.

Following the investigation, a juvenile was identified and charged with possession of child pornography. Because the individual is a juvenile, the sheriff’s office said the person’s name and photograph will not be released.

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation involved assistance from members of the Houston Metro ICAC Task Force, including Homeland Security Investigations — Galveston, the Pearland Police Department, Texas City Police Department and FBI — Texas City.

Officials are reminding parents and guardians to monitor children’s online activity, including cell phones, tablets, gaming devices and other internet-connected platforms.
