Galveston Police Seek Suspect After 19-Year-Old Man Shot Thursday Night

GALVESTON — Galveston police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect following an overnight shooting that left a 19-year-old man injured.

According to the Galveston Police Department, officers responded at approximately 11:10 p.m. Thursday to the 4500 block of Avenue P 1/2, where they found the victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound.

Officers provided medical aid until Galveston EMS arrived. The victim was transported to UTMB Health for treatment and is expected to recover. Police said he was in good condition at the time of the department’s release.

Investigators reviewed security camera footage and said the preliminary investigation indicates the victim was walking with an acquaintance when the acquaintance allegedly shot him in the shoulder.

Police described the suspect as a white male between 17 and 19 years old, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall.
