GALVESTON — A red Cessna 182 experienced a power failure at approximately 5:45pm, while landing Monday evening at Scholes International Airport, according to Kurt Koopmann with Galveston Police.

The pilot was the only occupant of the aircraft. No injuries were reported, and the pilot declined emergency medical services.

The scene was expected to be turned over to the Texas Department of Public Safety in accordance with standard operating procedures.

The plane is approximately 68 years old, according to FAA records.

Texas DPS Sergeant Stephen Woodard told KGTX 7 on Tuesday that the FAA did not deem the crash significant enough to investigate, given there were no injuries, fatalities or property damage to report.
