SAN LEON – This May, the San Leon Volunteer Fire Department is proud to celebrate 70 years of dedicated service to the community. In honor of this milestone, the department is inviting residents and visitors alike to join them for a special Open House and Fundraiser Event on Saturday, May 10th, at the fire station.
The festivities will kick off with an open house from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., where attendees can tour the firehouse, meet the local heroes, explore the fire engines and rescue equipment, and learn more about fire safety and the department’s proud history. Families are encouraged to bring the kids for a close-up look at the gear and trucks that have served the community for seven decades.
From 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the celebration continues with live music, great food, and plenty of socializing. It’s a chance for neighbors to come together in support of the volunteers who work tirelessly to keep San Leon safe.
This event also serves as the department’s annual fundraiser, helping raise essential funds to maintain equipment, provide training, and ensure the continued operation of the volunteer service that’s been a cornerstone of the community since 1955.
