LEAGUE CITY — Live music will still return to League City later this month after organizers announced the third annual Saturday Jazz Night concert has been rescheduled due to a high chance of rain in the forecast this weekend.
The free community concert, originally scheduled for May 9, will now take place Saturday, May 30, from 6 to 10 p.m. at League Park, located at 512 2nd Street.
The event is hosted by the League City Convention and Visitors Bureau in partnership with the Williams Hart & Boundas Law Firm and KTSU 90.9 The Choice.
This year’s lineup will still feature performances by Kyle Turner, Keeshea Pratt, and the Texas Southern University Jazz Ensemble, bringing a mix of jazz, soul, and contemporary sounds to the outdoor stage.
Before the headlining performances begin, the evening will open with a set from student musicians from Dickinson High School as part of the Dickinson Music Enrichment Center Jazz Ensemble. The group provides free music lessons and instruments to school-aged children, with a focus on underserved and economically disadvantaged youth.
Organizers say the event is designed to highlight local talent while offering a free, family-friendly night of music in the heart of League City.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from a lineup of food trucks, along with Galveston Bay Brewing and Soulfreak Railroad Café.
The event is free and open to the public.
Editor’s Note: The article, which stated the event was originally planned for May 9th, has been rescheduled due to rain. We’ve updated this piece to reflect that change.
