LEAGUE CITY — Clear Creek Independent School District officials announced that Ross Elementary has been selected as one of four Houston-area schools to participate in the 2025-26 Disney Musicals in Schools program through Theatre Under The Stars.

According to the district, this marks the first year Theatre Under The Stars has brought the program to the Houston area through the Disney Theatrical Group.

Ross Elementary students are preparing to perform a 30-minute adaptation of Frozen as part of the initiative. The school’s musical theatre club participated in a multi-stage application process before being selected for the program.

District officials said 32 students in third through fifth grade were chosen to participate in the production, which included a 17-week partnership with teaching artists from Theatre Under The Stars.

The Disney Musicals in Schools program was developed by the Disney Theatrical Group to help schools build and sustain theatre education programs by providing students and educators with musical theatre training and production support.

“We’ve seen students go from barely talking to having the most vibrant personality on stage,” Ross Elementary musical theatre club director Baileigh Martin said in a statement. “The confidence, leadership, and sense of community they gain carries into academics and every part of their lives.”

The production team also includes music director Jason Caillier, choreographer Mallory Keehn and stage manager Danielle Magnan. According to the district, Clear Creek ISD high school theatre and technical theatre teachers are also assisting with the production.

Ross Elementary will host public performances May 13 and 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria located at 2401 W. Main St. in League City.

The program will conclude May 18 with a Student Share Celebration at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, where participating schools will perform selections from the production together.
