TEXAS CITY — The search for a missing 17-year-old who disappeared in the water near the Texas City Dike has been suspended until Sunday morning.

Nathan Lowery, 17, was last seen Saturday while on a water raft with family and friends near the Texas City Dike.

According to information provided to KGTX 7, the raft began taking on water. Everyone else on board made it safely back to shore, but Lowery did not resurface.

Texas EquuSearch searched the area Saturday in an effort to locate the teen but had not developed any leads before suspending operations for the evening.

Search efforts are expected to resume Sunday morning.
