Fencing Tournament in Alvin: Compete for USA Fencing Rankings

The Rogue’s Fencers Guild will host a fencing tournament featuring foil and sabre matches on Saturday, July 25, at the Alvin Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Center.

Fencing, a popular Olympic sport, will be brought to the Alvin area, showcasing students competing for USA Fencing letter rankings.

The event will feature the three disciplines of fencing: foil, sabre and epee. Each discipline has its own style of swordplay and scoring. The tournament will be sanctioned by USA Fencing, allowing competitors to earn letter rankings as they compete.

The tournament includes Senior Sabre and Senior Foil competitions, open to all fencers born in 2012 or earlier.

All matches will follow official USA Fencing rules and standards to ensure fair and consistent competition.

The tournament, known as the “Curse of Capistrano,” is free and open to spectators.
