Friendswood’s Streak Continues, Bulldozes Vikings in Landslide Victory, 80-0

FRIENDSWOOD – Another win, another blowout. Four games into the season and the Friendswood Mustangs have added their second blowout as they trampled the Fort Bend Dulles Vikings in a lopsided shutout, 80-0, in their Homecoming game.

From the very opening kickoff return touchdown by receiver Christian Lee, everyone in attendance could tell that this was going to be another landslide victory for the Mustangs. Those feelings were amplified when cornerback Rit Johnson made a diving interception to put the Mustangs close to the red-zone.

The first half was nothing but pure dominance from the Friendswood defense. Cornerback Dax Berry made two interceptions against Fort Bend Dulles, with one of them going for a 27-yard pick six. Rit Johnson added more to his highlight reel, forcing a fumble during a read option, leaving linebacker Grant Martin to score on a 66-yard fumble recovery touchdown.

Apart from a 37-yard punt return touchdown by receiver/cornerback Austin Cain, Josh Brister’s offense was too overwhelming for the Vikings defense to handle. Brister tosses an easy nine-yard touchdown throw to Austin Cain off play-action, and heaves a 29-yard throw to Jackson Owens getting the Mustangs deep in the red-zone.

With how Friendswood has been playing all season long, so far, fans will have to wait and see if their streak of dominance continues as the Mustangs travel to South Houston, TX to take on the South Houston Trojans (1-3).
