CLEAR LAKE SHORES — Firefighters from several local departments responded to a house fire Thursday evening in Clear Lake Shores, quickly bringing the blaze under control.

Kemah Fire Chief Robert Suniga said firefighters were dispatched around 5:11 p.m. after receiving a report of a structure fire with moderate to heavy smoke coming from the right side of the home.

Crews from the Kemah, League City, Seabrook and Bacliff fire departments responded to the scene.

According to Suniga, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control quickly.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Suniga said an air-conditioning unit is currently suspected of being involved.

One firefighter was also evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries following the response.

The investigation remains ongoing.
