Overview:
- Hot temperatures dominate the Weekend Forecast
- High Pressure system keeps calm weather in my forecast for the weekend
- Rip-Current Risk continues
- Rain and storm chances increase beginning Sunday Night
Friday

Another hot day is in store with high temps reaching into the upper 80s and maybe low 90s today, with “feels-like” temps reaching up to 100 degrees. Breezy southeasterly winds will aide in bringing moisture onshore, keeping it muggy all day.
There is a very low chance for thunderstorms into the afternoon, but most of the activity should remain to the west and north. I wouldn’t rule out an isolated thunderstorm though.
If you plan to spend time outdoors today, ensure proper steps are taken to remain hydrated. If you plan on spending time at the beach, there remains a rip current risk today so be sure to only swim in areas guarded by a lifeguard.
Saturday
Not to sound like a broken record, but the forecast Saturday remains the same as today. Temperatures are expected to reach into the lower 90s, with “feels-like” temperatures reaching into the 100s again. Breezy conditions will persist throughout the day again, with very low, isolated storm chances possible in the late morning to early afternoon.
If you plan on spending time at the beach, there remains a rip current risk, so be sure to only swim in areas guarded by a lifeguard.
Sunday
The High Pressure system will continue to dominate through the day Sunday, bringing one last day of hot temperatures in the lower 90s before getting some relief early next week.
Sunday night is when the stormier pattern begins to set in. A cold front will begin making its way across Southeast Texas, but won’t arrive into the area until sometime Monday evening. Nonetheless, rain chances will begin to increase late Sunday Night into the early morning hours on Monday.

The Weather Prediction Center has already outlined a Marginal Risk for Excessive Rainfall for Sunday Night. This will be the start of a much more stormier pattern, continuing through the first half of next week.
Say tuned, there are more details to come regarding the stormier weather pattern in the weekly forecast to be published on Sunday.
