As of Wednesday Afternoon, no Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect yet for Galveston County. However, I do expect Tropical Storm Warnings to be issued later tonight

Impacts Expected and Timing

You can expect to see Tropical Storm Force Winds beginning Thursday Morning

As of Wednesday afternoon, the primary impacts expected for Galveston County, as well as much of the upper Texas Coast, will be:

Strong Winds gusting up to 50mph
Trace amounts to 1 inch of rain
Rough surf and rip currents

This is not forecast to be a rainmaker-type of storm for areas inland. The bulk of the rainfall will remain over open waters. Rough surf and gusty winds are the primary concern.
