KEMAH — A driver was taken into custody Friday night after a traffic stop turned into a brief police pursuit in Kemah, according to Police Chief Raymond Garivey.

Garivey said officers initiated a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet pickup in the 200 block of FM 2094.

As officers approached the vehicle, police said the driver accelerated and fled.

After a brief pursuit, the pickup pulled into the Brickhouse RV Resort, located in the 1000 block of Marina Bay Drive.

The male driver was taken into custody without incident, Garivey said.

Police have not released the driver’s identity or additional information about what charges he may face.
